Chris Duke, Ph.D. says: For the record, I am not a "number cruncher." My graduate work did include research and statistics, but that is not what I am or do. I am an assessment specialist; I know how to assess effectively at all levels of the institution: classrooms, disciplines, programs, administrative units, or the entire college. "Number crunching" is only one element of that process, and for me, the least entertaining and least critical. The "meat" of what I do is the continuous improvement: what meaning is made of the results and what changes do we make moving forward?
